In a similar vein to the completion of surveys, becoming a mystery shopper is another way to make money online without inconveniencing yourself.  Mystery shoppers are appointed guests, usually by a retail store or hospitality chain.  They employ volunteers to use the facilities of one of their outlets and report back with their views, the idea being, that they can operate under the radar of the management, receive no special treatment and experience the store in its natural environment.  This gives the company priceless information on how well the store in question is doing.

Mystery shoppers are usually paid either a small fee for their troubles or will receive a gift voucher of some kind.  Perfect for anyone living in a big city with a lot of spare time, again this is not a sustainable form of employment but is a great way to earn money in your free time.

So far the ways in which we have suggested that you make money online have required no input or personal sacrifice.  This is why any money made is unlikely to offer life-changing results and at best will add a little extra pocket money.  However, if you have the skill or resources to do so, you can easily amass a small fortune through online sales and marketing.

Selling goods through an auctioning site or specialist web retailer can be an effective way to seriously make money online.  Sitting on a collection of precious relics or priceless collectables?  Well the advent of Internet shopping means that you do not have to sit tight until the Antiques Roadshow comes your way.

Similar to selling goods, buying can be a lucrative way to make money online.  This may sound absurd, but by spotting bargains then selling them on for a lot more than the amount you purchased it for, is an easy way to make money.  This often comes on more abstract ways, which differ from the traditional sale.  For example, by acquiring a popular domain name for your site you can interest a host of advertisers enticed by the prospective exposure of a banner or link on your home page.  Ad supported sites are fast becoming the most profitable of any online business – Myspace, Facebook, Bebo and Google all rely on money from advertisers to make their millions.

Finally, and likely to be the most controversial tactic to make money online, is through Internet Poker.  Condemned by many and associated with more luck than skill to those who do not partake in the game, poker often endures a lousy reputation.  However with the right budget management and composure poker can be an outstanding way to see your bank balance skyrocket.  The downfall being that for anyone afflicted with an addictive or gambling nature, then it can become a dangerous proposition.
